My name is Ida Husøy and I am a Norwegian social media enthusiast, currently working in the media. I have previously worked for a range of local and regional press, including photography and social media marketing. Along with my professional multimedia experience I have a BA (Hons) degree in International Journalism from Liverpool John Moores University.
In addition I have a Diploma in Online Marketing and a Certificate in Strategic Management. I have – from an early age – been drawn towards a career in journalism and the media. It all developed from my passion for football, and my number one team from Kristiansand in Norway, called IK Start.

About me

With a clear ambition, I have worked hard for years, towards gaining a full-time job in the media industry. Over the last few years my interest for social media and new technology have evolved and I have previously had a blog more or less devoted to the emerging topic. There are a few milestones to note in my career so far, but only one moment I would call life-changing.

It all dates back to the 9th of January 2013. It was a foggy day. A day I will never forget. You can read all about the experience of having a picture going viral by clicking here! Due to the picture success I set up, and later closed down, an online shop for people wanting to purchase my pictures on canvas. It was a great experience for me
managing my very own web store.
The fog picture experience has taught me many valuable skills, and I have combined all that with my understanding of the media, which encouraged me to develop a media company in the early stages of 2013. Mathilde Media offers services within the fields of journalism, photography, social media management and public relations. More information about the company can be found on the official website www.MathildeMedia.com.
The last couple of years has been exciting in all possible means. I have gained a lot of good experiences and I have learned even more. I could also, on the 9th of December 2016, celebrate having worked as a paid journalist for eight years.
For the last 34 months (as of February 2017) I have worked for VG+, which
is the paywall product of the national Norwegian newspaper VG. In the paper I am editing and designing newspaper content to fit mobile and tablet devices.
